Day 1 : Ginger Turmeric Tea

What you need : 

  • Combine 1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, and 
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder in about 150 ml boiling water, simmer for 5 minutes, and then add 1 tsp pure honey and lemon (optional). 

Sip it on an empty stomach in the morning. Day 2 : Ajwain Tea

What you need : 

  • 2 tsp ajwain seeds or 5-6 fresh ajwain leaves
  • Few tulsi leaves
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp honey/stevia/jaggery (optional)
  • 150 ml water

Preparation:

  • Boil water and add all the ingredients, except honey.
  • Let it boil for 5 minutes, then strain.
  • Optionally, add honey or jaggery for sweetness.

Day 3 : Coconut Water and lemon juice (Option 1)

Saturday nights are often filled with parties and celebrations. We eat lot of junk or fatty food and some people enjoy drinking alcoholic beverages and end up with hangovers. But if you want to keep the joy going without disrupting your routine the next day, head to one of these detox!

What you need:

  • 1 Fresh green coconut for a glass of coconut water
  • 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice

Day 3 : Minty Citrus Cleanse (Option 2)

What you need :

  • 1/2 fresh mint leaves (pudina)
  • 1 lemon, and 1/2 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • Pinch of black salt/pink salt
  • 250ml water
Preparation :

  • Wash the mint leaves thoroughly and chop them roughly.
  • Take 1 whole lemon juice
  • In a tall glass, add the mint leaves and lemon juice and lemon zest
  • Pour the water over the mint and lemon.
  • If desired, add a teaspoon of honey for sweetness.
  • Stir the mixture well to combine the flavours and enjoy the drink.

Day 4 : Kashmiri Kawa

A flavourful powerpacked antioxidants, aids digestion, boosts the immune system, and promotes mental calmness, a very aromatic and calming drink, its my personal favourite.

What you need :

  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 teaspoons of loose green tea leaves
  • 6-7 almonds
  • 1/2tsp black pepper powder
  • 1-2 green cardamoms
  • 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
  • a pinch of saffron
  • 1 tsp of rose petals
  • 1 tsp Jaggery or honey or stevia(optional)

Preparation :

In a saucepan, simmer 2 cups of water and add the spices, saffron, and rose petals. Boil the ingredients for 2-3 minutes, then stir in the green tea leaves and turn off the heat. Let the tea stay for 3-5 minutes with the pan covered. Strain the tea using a tea strainer and add pounded almonds, jaggery, or honey (optional). Enjoy this delightful detox kahwa tea with your loved ones, especially on cozy mornings in this weather. Please share your experience with this drink.

Day 5 : Awla Ginger

A vitamin C booster, anti inflammatory and antiageing, antioxidant which is just right for any morning

What you need :

  • 2-3 chopped awla (Indian gooseberries)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • About 1″ ginger
  • Pinch of rock salt
  • 1 glass of water

Preparation :

  • Blend awla, honey, ginger, black pepper, and rock salt with water.
  • Sieve the mixture into a glass.
  • Enjoy this antioxidant-rich, refreshing drink 1st thing in the morning
Note: Diabetics should avoid honey, and high blood pressure patients should skip the salt in this drink.

Day 6 : Chia Basil Mint Blissful detox

Chia seeds contain a rich blend of dietary fiber, proteins, omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and vital nutrients, rendering this detox drink a beneficial inclusion in your eating habits. Its invigorating and hydrating qualities contribute to digestion , blood sugar control, cholesterol control. it is a must inclusion for heart-healthy diet

What you need :

  • 2 tsp chia seeds soaked in ½ cup water for about 15 minutes
  • 200 ml water
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 8-10 mint leaves
  • 4-5 leaves of holy basil (tulsi)

Preparation :

In a glass of water, pour soaked chia seeds, add lemon juice, honey (optional), mint and tulsi leaves (pounded/roughly hand torn), stir well and leave it for 5 minutes. Day 7 : Apple Cider Vinegar

For centuries, apple cider vinegar has been renowned for its various health benefits. While it has gained popularity for weight loss, it offers much more. What you need :

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar
  • 240 ml of pure drinking water
  • 1 tbsp (organic honey, maple syrup, or 4 drops of Stevia), its optional especially for diabetics.
  • 1 tsp of ginger juice
  • 1 tsp of lemon juice
  • A pinch of cinnamon powder

Preparation :

Mix all the ingredients in glass of water, stir well, leave it for 2-3 minutes, its ready to drink. It can be consumed twice a day to get maximum health benefits.

Apple Toddy (Bonus Drink)

This spiced up and delicious toddy will keep you toasty during the monsoon months.. Apple toddy, a non-alcoholic beverage, provides hydration, vitamin C, and antioxidants from apple juice. It offers digestive support and a warm, comforting experience, making it a delightful and healthier alternative to sweetened drinks. Enjoy in moderation for a cozy and enjoyable treat.

What you need :

  • 90 ml apple juice
  • 20 ml honey
  • 20 ml lime juice
  • 5 ml apple cider
  • 150ml cup hot water
  • 2-3 nos clove
  • 2 nos cardamom
  • 1 small stick cinnamon

Preparation :

In a vessel, heat 1 cup of apple cider and apple juice over medium heat.
Add a cinnamon stick and cloves and cinamon to the liquid,simmer the mixture for about 5-7 minutes to infuse the flavors.
Remove the vessel from the heat and stir in 1-2 tablespoons of honey and the juice of a small lemon. Adjust sweetness to taste with more honey if desired.
In a separate cup, pour 1 cup of hot water.
Strain the spiced apple mixture into the cup with hot water using a fine-mesh strainer.
Optionally, garnish with a slice of apple, lemon or orange.
Your apple toddy is ready to enjoy! Sip and savor this warm and comforting beverage.
